Most systems are inherited, not designed. They're fine enough to keep running, fine enough to renew the subscription or contract, fine enough that nobody stops to ask why. There's a whole industry built around fine, until it breaks.
I'm Janette. I've spent years building inside various large organizations and the pattern is always the same. There are complex systems, real constraints, people who actually need the thing to work. But somewhere upstream, a decision is made by someone who will never use it. Institutional and systemic issues persist while getting buy in becomes difficult. An icon stays duplicated for two sprints. An accessibility fix is 'in the backlog'. The foundation is someone else's problem.
sovendekattStudio exists because I'd rather build the thing than sit wishing someone else had. Might as well build it for real.
I create products I want to exist. I also take on projects for those who want to collaborate on something custom tailored to them.
